Mark has been on his own for over forty years. He had a job once for about six months and was inspired by the two words, “You’re fired!” At that moment he made a vow to do whatever it would take to make it on his own. He will tell you it hasn’t always been easy and that it has been well worth the ride.

He runs a speaking business conducting presentations on how to create extreme focus and put more money in your pocket as a business owner. The vast majority of his audiences are found in the professional services arena, including financial services, real estate, consulting, and coaching. After he delivered his first keynote speech in the dental profession, it led to numerous presentations at dental conferences and meetings. In 2024, he was name the Dental Author of The Year.

After hearing Mark, attendees often share they are more focused on a daily basis, able to attract more prospects, stimulate more referrals and create a path to more business. 

His book and keynote speech, Never Be The Same were inspired by his first, five-hundred-mile walk across Spain in 2008. He went back and did the same walk in 2014, 2017, and 2025. His keynote speech is most often built around three, mission-critical messages including:

1. You can always take one more step.
2. What you do every day is more important than what you do once in a while.
3. Do the work, whether you feel like it or not.

His speaking style is best described as magnetic versus dynamic. He shares powerful stories that drive key points and surprise an audience with unexpected humor along the way. There is no razzle dazzle with Mark, no power point slides, and no gimmicks. He often hears the remark, “No one left during your presentation, and no one was on their phone.”

He is a CSP or certified speaking professional and was inducted into the Minnesota Speakers Hall of Fame in 2006. In July 2023, Mark was inducted into the National Speakers Hall of Fame and is a newly minted CPAE which stands for Council of Peers Award of Excellence. In 2025, Mark will be honored in Washington, D.C. as a Legend of the speaking profession.
